Michele Bachmann served as the representative of Minnesota’s 6th congressional district in the US House of Representatives from 2007 to 2015. She worked on the Financial Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Before entering Congress, Bachmann was a federal tax litigation attorney and then a state senator for six years. An education reformer and a cofounder of a charter school, she and her husband, Marcus, began a successful business from scratch, reared five children, and helped raise 23 foster children.
