Summary
For both Zane and Darby, their small town roots hold a terrible secret. Now, decades later, they've come together to build a new life. But will the past set them free or pull them under? Find out in Under Currents from #1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts.

Zane Bigelow grew up in a beautiful, perfectly kept house in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Strangers and even Zane’s own aunt across the lake see his parents as a successful surgeon and his stylish wife, making appearances at their children’s ballet recitals and baseball games. Only Zane and his sister know the truth, until one brutal night finally reveals cracks in the facade, and Zane escapes for college without a thought of looking back...

Years later, Zane returns to his hometown determined to reconnect with the place and people that mean so much to him, despite the painful memories. As he resumes life in the colorful town, he meets a gifted landscape artist named Darby, who is on the run from ghosts of her own.

Together they will have to teach each other what it means to face the past, and stand up for the ones they love.

I highly recommended this book. I cannot express how much I loved this book! I was enthralled from the beginning! I have always thought that Nora Roberts is extremely talented. She describes places and events so that you can imagine it clearly in your mind. The people are so real you hate to see them leave when the book ends. Her stories feel real and honest. This book was a special treat because there are multiple plots. This was my first audio book of one of her books. A story of abuse, survival, love, hope and family. January Lavoy is a very talented narrator. She possesses a wondrous talent not only for voices but for the emotions and nuances of each dialogue and narration. Through her I could feel the anger, fear, joy, etc. of each character’s situation. Kudos to Ms Lavoy for an excellent job!

I really enjoyed this book. Nora Roberts always writes so well and gets you so interested in the story. I found myself looking outside at my yard thinking what new trees or flowers I should plant. The way she writes it is like there is movie going on inside your head because you can see everything so clearly. Narrator was very good.

Really great audiobook. The entire story from beginning to end kept me engaged and most of the time, on the edge of my seat. Felt a connection to each one of the characters, no matter how minor their role. My favorite Nora Roberts book to date!

I really loved this one. I haven't read a Nora Robert's book for many years. I'd forgotten what a fantastic writer she is. The narrator was one of the best I've heard. look forward to listening to more.

There are hours of boring minutia leaving you hoping for a climatic ending that never comes. The ending is ridiculously predictable. The attempts at humor fell short every time. The plot is not believable even for the best imagination. Very disappointing. The narration was good but she had little to work with in this book

This was an edge of your seat book that you just don’t want to put down. Warning, though, it could be triggering for anyone who has been in an abusive relationship.

I love Nora Roberts, especially this one. She covered the ending all the way there's no guessing what happened.

I love Nora Roberts, this plot line, while good and attention holding, could have been tightened up a little by about 2 hrs. I like her love scenes...stoke up a little heat without going for the cheap shots like pseudo-porn. NC is always near and dear to my heart, as my mother is from the mountains, and we now live in CLT.
