Unabridged Audiobook
This may very well be one of the few books I could not continue.... it just didn’t click with me.
I found the book very interesting. However the readers voice was not very soothing, but somewhat obnoxious at times
This was chosen by my book club and to be fair not my first choice. I just never really got into it but I wanted to. Unnecessarily long with no emotional connection for me, I was expecting in the next part or period of time. The decades and historical ties were probably the most interesting part of the read. Found most sections dragging on while passing over chunks of time at the end to speed up putting it all together making it feel rushed and unfinished for the amount of time involved with these characters. Also disappointed with the title, the actual narration referring to Mrs. Everything wasn't the "ah ha" moment I was hoping for.
Loved Everything about this book. I loved the story I loved the characters I loved all of the historical connections
Jerry B. As a male growing up in the 60's I was completly oblivious to the sexism in our culture....as were some women who walked in lockstep with 'tradition'. Jennifer Weiner brings insight into this continuing cultural change, the lifetime challenge of sibling love, rilivery, sacrifice, marital conflict, love, racial prejudice and the sacred rituals of Judaism. This book is also a courageous journey into the world of gender partner preference, which brings passion into the world of challenging boundaries from wealth, gender, age and race. Some people never grow up...and some never allow themselves to have a happy childhood. It is not too late to do so as seen though the insight of her eyes. It was a tender lifetime journey into courage of parenthood, aging, and passion. While I did not care for a recent bestseller "50 shades of black & blue"...this was a view into the world of same gender passion not seen by me...but appreciated from the perspective of the protagonist who was living it.
Difficult at first, but the characters held my attention
Very good book and the narrator was exceptional
Great book- really enjoyed it! Im actually sad its over. I often get bored 1/2 way through books and quit, but this one had my full attention throughout! Great character development, relatable to me!
Great listen!
