One of the Best Books of the Year  Time * NPR * Washington Post * Bloomberg News * Chicago Tribune * Chicago Public Library * Fortune * Los Angeles Times * E! News * The Telegraph * Apple * Library Journal  In this newly updated edition of the "meticulous and devastating" (Associated Press) account of violence and espionage that spent months on the New York Times Bestsellers list, Ronan Farrow exposes serial abusers and a cabal of powerful interests hell-bent on covering up the truth, at any cost - from Hollywood to Washington and beyond.
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood's most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family. This is the untold story of the exotic tactics of surveillance and intimidation deployed by wealthy and connected men to threaten journalists, evade accountability, and silence victims of abuse. And it's the story of the women who risked everything to expose the truth and spark a global movement

The book itself is great. Comprehensive, honest and engaging. However, the narration is the worst I have ever heard. The fake accents are unbearable. I can't imagine who thought his cheap spy movie from the 70's imitation of Italian, Russian or Israeli accents sound like a good idea. It's really a shame that such a great book was ruined by the awful narration.

Great book. It has amazing accounts of a process of covering up stories that appears to be both common and unknown. As far as the narration, some of the accents were not very believable, but I think it was helpful to keep the characters straight through all the dialogue.

Loved this book! It was so eye-opening as to how people like Weinstein can prey on those less powerful. The lengths that he would go to such as having people followed and their garbage searched was sickening! Farrow is a persistent investigator! I thought he did a superb job narrating!

Terrible book. I'm no Trump supporter (I voted for Hillary), but if you're going to lump Trump in with Weinstein, you obviously have an agenda and are not credible. Your "dad" is a pedophile, but Trump had sex with willing women, yet you crucify Trump .... clearly fake news. And stop with your childish accents.

The book was great! At first I wasn’t sure about the accents he used, but then it did help when the story progressed to know who he was referring to. The story is crazy and horrific, and feels like a movie but it’s peoples lives and what really happened to them. It’s a great peek inside what happens in, not only Hollywood, but throughout businesses as a whole.

Book is solid, not great. Sometimes gets into a little too much of the mundane spy detail and jumps to Matt Lauer at the end which seemed a little choppy. His narration is eh.....I did not appreciate when he tries to use the voice of the characters in the book.

So glad I got the audiobook. Ronan Farrows narration is wonderful. And I did not expect him to do the accents! He’s great. The book is important and illuminating. Please listen

Superb on every level. Ronan’s voice will forever be a link to justice and perseverance. Bravo to the victims that took a chance and trusted him.

A little long and can get a little confusing. I do enjoy that the author narrates the book

I haven’t completely finished but I wanted to review the narrator because of a previously disparaging reviewer. The Narrator is the author, Rowan Farrow, and I think he is doing a very good job. First of all, he spent time with all of the players in this book and so he knows first hand how they sound. The accents have helped me keep track of who is who. I think he has done a very nice job.
