Summary
In December 1975, the Lutz family moved into their new home on suburban Long Island. George and Kathleen Lutz knew that, one year earlier, Ronald DeFeo had murdered his parents, brothers, and sisters in the house, but the property—complete with boathouse and swimming pool—and the price were too good to pass up.

Twenty-eight days later, the entire Lutz family fled in terror.

This is the spellbinding, bestselling true story that gripped the nation, the story of a house possessed by evil spirits, haunted by psychic phenomena almost too terrible to describe.

If you are a fan of documented hauntings this is a must listen! It does not mirror the movie of the same name, it follows the story of the next family who moves into the Amityville, NY home. Frightening, intriguing, fast-paced, and very well read.

Not bad and backfills the story the movie. Good read.

As a Long Islander, the Amityville House is part of the Island’s lore. Never had I heard the whole tale, just the general story. Now knowing the details, it is scarier than I ever imagined. To this day I have never been by the house, and I have lived here all of my 46 years. Ray Porter is my favorite narrator. I have purchased several books just because he narrated them. While his performance here was better than average, it was not to the level I have come to appreciate from him. That said, it was done over 10 years ago, so perhaps he was still fairly new. Still, he delivered a solid performance.

I really liked the book, the narration is very understandable, I am not from USA and I listen to understand better English speech, this is really good, not super scary, but still thrilling
