A little confusing following various characters

I was hesitant to read this story after reading the synopsis but I am glad I did. Bachman’s ability to develop characters as if they have been a part of my life is truly amazing. His dialogues are as natural as any conversation among friends.

Great listen. Looking forward to the next book.

Great story, but BEST narrator ever! I am going to look for more books narrated by Marin Ireland. Seriously, she makes an incredible actor, being all of the actors in the story.

Like other reviewers, I enjoyed this book. I appreciate all of Backman's work, but I wouldn't rank this one as a favorite. The expanse of character development is impressive, and that I was able to keep everyone straight is a testament to Backman's abilities. I think it was the plot line that didn't grab me as much as his other novels. Still, I highly recommend.

This is a very enthralling tale! Both story and character development are very good and it held my interest throughout. A powerful message about human nature, the pros and cons of a small town and the risk of judging people too soon? Loved it!

His best book of those I have read so far due to so many things regarding the characters and struggle of life in general. And the narrator simply the best one since I started in Audiobooks.

The story and the narrator brought me into this story and kept me riveted the entire time.

Loved this one, although it was very different from his others. Characters were interesting, and it was a very well written from several different character perspectives.

If you think this is going to be a 'feel good' movie like "A Man Called Ove" or "My Grandmother Wants Me to Tell You She's Sorry", you're in for a shock! This one has shocking darkness and people who are so self centered that they have no morals......
