Unabridged Audiobook
It was a bit slow to start, but once the conflict and the primary characters were established, it was hard to put down. The tragedy of this village could read from the headlines of newspapers. what Ms. Mbue does so beautifully is to account the personal toll that resulted from greed; and painstakingly describe the ache that exists from having hope when you have no power. She manages to take a problem that is colossal in scope and breathe the humanity into the heart of it. If you are looking for a book whose characters will stay with you, I can’t recommend this one enough.
Wonderful story telling, excellent narrator.
