What Melania wants, Melania gets.

The former director of special events at Vogue and producer of nine legendary Met Galas, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff met Melania Knauss in 2003 and had a front row seat to the transformation of Donald Trump’s then girlfriend from a rough-cut gem to a precious diamond. As their friendship deepened over lunches at Manhattan hot spots, black-tie parties, and giggle sessions in the penthouse at Trump Tower, Wolkoff watched the newest Mrs. Trump raise her son, Barron, and manage her highly scrutinized marriage.

After Trump won the 2016 election, Wolkoff was recruited to help produce the 58th Presidential Inauguration and to become the First Lady’s trusted advisor. Melania put Wolkoff in charge of hiring her staff, organizing her events, helping her write speeches, and creating her debut initiatives. Then it all fell apart when she was made the scapegoat for inauguration finance irregularities. Melania could have defended her innocent friend and confidant, but she stood by her man, knowing full well who was really to blame. The betrayal nearly destroyed Wolkoff.

In this candid and emotional memoir, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff takes you into Trump Tower and the White House to tell the funny, thrilling, and heartbreaking story of her intimate friendship with one of the most famous women in the world, a woman few people truly understand.

How did Melania react to the Access Hollywood tape and her husband’s affair with Stormy Daniels? Does she get along well with Ivanka? Why did she wear that jacket with “I really don’t care, do u?” printed on the back? Is Melania happy being First Lady? And what really happened with the inauguration’s funding of $107 million? Wolkoff has some ideas...

It sounded like all the other books. No new behind the scenes information.

Interesting to listen to author talk about how she wasted so much of her life for nothing. From the beginning of this book I kept saying to myself what a one sided relationship these 2 woman had. Sad it took so long for her to wake up.

Very detailed and informative on the inaugural procedures. However, I found the author’s obsessive belief of how much potential and how wonderful Melania was very tiresome. To me she was and still is a very shallow gold-digging Trump. The author was used and thrown out. Nothing new in Trump world.

You can definitely hear the pain and frustration come through. And I'm glad you were able to tell your story and hopefully clear your name one day. Narrating is not your best skill. However... where do I begin.. soo many red flags. I'm sure you worked hard on the innoguration with what you had to work with. But you are delusional if you think it was a success. The Trumps are all about perception. Melania is no different. It's hard to see her in your eyes. Clearly you were used abused and disposed of. And I don't believe for one second Barron kicked her. I think it's an excuse for how miserable she is.

She sounded jealous of Melania. Reminded me of high school. She wanted to be friends with the popular girl and it went too far. That’s what typically happens, she seemed not to learn this in her teens.

Interesting insight in regards to the dynamics of the Trump family. It seems that anyone who gets involved with this family has their reputation doomed. The emoji details were a bit annoying but I think the author was trying to give the reader a sense that Melania is a caring and loving person. By the end of the book it was apparent that she was not.

Did not much of this book. I felt the embellishment of the first lady is obvious. being they knew each do well.....Maybe I am not being fair since anything and everything trump, rub's me the wrong way.

I felt like she was too detailed regarding all the emojis with each text and email, plus too detailed with inauguration, which didn't keep my attention.

This is a must read! Well written makes you feel as if you where there. It got me to understand how something like this administration could happen and how it could happen again or worse.

The language is atrocious and the author is silly and naive and extremely self oriented - whatever did she expect!

it qas a wonderful insight into the east wong. Answers many questions, and puts the fake news on its butt with backup and first hand knowledge.
