Unabridged Audiobook
I can hardly believe that I have come to the end of the Wolf Hall Trilogy. I’m speechless! I have imbedded myself in English history for the past year by reading all that I can of the Tudor period and nothing I have read comes close to these books ! I absolutely love them! I loved the narrator and as Ms Mantel said at the ending of the the 3rd book, Ben Miles will always be the voice of Cromwell. Outstanding loved every word!
This is the pinnacle of historic fiction. Hilary Mantel has some equals in the genre but nobody does it better. Impeccably researched, and written this is the third and final installment in the story of King Henry VIII court through the eyes of Thomas Cromwell. The only bad thing I can say about this novel, if you are a student of British history, you know how it ends. If you're not, I will not be the spoiler. Is there an Oscar for audio book readers? If so, I nominate Ben Miles. It is unimaginable that anyone could have read/acted this series better.
Oh. Cromwell, how I will miss you!!!! What a beautifully written, amazingly researched, and poetically imaginative trilogy by the late great Hilary Mantel. I loved every word of it, its subtleties and musicality. And the narration - absolutely brilliant. Ben Miles is a magician! He moves from one distinct character to the next and there are a lot of characters! He makes a complex text easy to follow and gives it such tangible life. After all of these hours being accompanied by this narrator while I commuted or worked around the house or sat and ate a meal, I will miss his voice, so I have begun to listen to another book he narrated. Many thanks for all of the pleasurable and engrossing hours of listening!
Love studying the period and this is accurate.
This is the third book of the Wolf Hall series. I enjoyed it so much that I will go back to the first and second books. Very well done!
Slow boring taken too long to get to the main plot
Great 3rd act.
