Unabridged Audiobook
I’m so glad this book was free & that I didn’t waste a credit on it. It was slow and boring and only exciting towards the very end. Take my word for it and skip this one.
The general plot of the book is very intriguing however the dynamic between Wolf, Andrea and Baxter is so annoying. I get that the author tried making them a complex characters but seemed to have failed a little there. Especially Baxter's character annoyed me the most as her decisions and thought processes border on plain stupidity at times. I really loved Candace Fox's Crimson Lake series as the characters were very skillfully portrayed.
Throughly enjoyed this story right up until the end which I’d have liked a few minutes more to the post climax resolution for the main characters. The fact it as a free read was just the cherry on top. Highly recommend this selection and hope to see the follow on books in the series on here soon.
I’m sorry but in no way was this book boring. It was thrilling and suspenseful, and the narrator was superb!
I really enjoyed this audiobook. I rarely submit a review but not only was this an interesting spin on the modern defective story (which kept me in suspense unlike most - and I've listed to 100+), the narrator was amazing! I loved it!
Hard to care about characters
This audiobook was offered as a freebie during Audiobooks.com's June celebration. I grabbed it and enjoyed every minute of it. Looked into other books by Daniel Cole, and Audiobooks.com does not carry the follow up book, Hangman. I hope it joins the catalog soon.
Good book.
Exceptionally good! I highly recommend this uniquely emotional mystery with intensely drawn, realistic characters on an eclectic police force chasing a villain who seems to come and go out of thin air. Throw in a media intent on making its big mark and a diverse set of circumstances, and you've got yourself a heck of a story. Funny, touching, engrossing, terrifying, and truly suspenseful. Well done!
