sooooo good

I enjoyed the love story of Eloise. I was expecting her to become a happy spinster. I loved the development of her character. The five proposals throughout the book explains exactly why she didn’t marry originally.

I don’t enjoy when there is one narrator; a woman doing all of the male voices.

It was good just like the others before it.

These Bridgerton books are usually my sugar cubes in between more serious books. This was the worst one yet, which is disappointing because I loved Eloise before. Here Eloise lost so much of what made her character interesting. The only part I liked was how she was with the children.Phillip had his separate redeeming characteristics and charm at times, but I don't think he saw himself clearly. Phillip's complete misunderstanding of mental health or childcare was so off putting, no matter how endearing his love of plants was.But Eloise and Phillip together? I was not a fan. They had some okay moments when they talked, but even then it just wasn't convincing. It felt very forced. I was kind of grossed out by the gaslighting.Will I keep reading the series? probably. I already have them so why not.I listen to the audiobooks and I will say that the narrator does a great job.

Very enjoyable read

As usual, I loved Julia Quinn's story telling in this book. However,I had wanted something a little more romantic for Eloise so I was a tad disappointed that her love story was so pragmatic, but over all, I liked the story, especially the bits with Amanda and Oliver. The kids really stole the story, just as kids usually do steal any show! The narration, on the other hand, was not up to the story in my opinion. I felt that the voice was too deep and slow for the story being told, except when she was voicing adult males. I know that's a picky opinion of mine, but still, it is how I felt about it.

I liked the first 2-3 books in the series better than this one, but it was ok.

This is quite removed from the usual Bridgerton story - removed as it is from London and the Yon and the Season. It’s dark and dour to begin with and doesn’t really sparkle on the journey. I kept feeling shades of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights - but not in a great way. This is my least favourite in the series and it took me awhile to complete. It’s ok, just not what I’d come to expect and so therefore it fell flat for me...

Love the series and enjoyed exploring Eloise story

I loved this book. I find it better then the others in the sequel. I really like how the characters feelings are described and revealed. The narrator is excellent also (as usual).

This story was another satisfying follow on in the series. Lots of heart, interesting character arcs and humour. Well read, deeply engaging series.
