Unabridged Audiobook
I was kind of disappointed in this book. I feel like I wanted more of her background and information about growing up.
I want my money back. For such a big star, wasn't expecting this. The fact she constantly tried to divide the North and South of the USA is not healthy. Not to mention her white privilege which shows she has no clue what it's like for anyone outside of her circle. This might be a good book for her target audience, but clearly I'm not it.
Being a southern Tennessee girl of course I loved this book. Reese is so real and what a fun book to listen to in her TN accent!
I wanted to love this book. Really! But it’s superficial, lacks heart and depth. The author could have discussed her childhood, her struggles, her motivation. Maybe she wrote it more as a menu idea/recipe book.
I wasn't born in the South, but I've lived in Nashville for 30 years now, and I loved all the local references. Anyone complaining about this doesn't understand the beauty of the South... and to say she doesn't see her white privilege? You obviously don't know the first thing about Reese and all that she does to advocate for women, especially women of color. Don't be so critical of someone you don't truly know! Well done, Ms Witherspoon!
Being born in the south I enjoyed the sayings and recipes. My sister’s name is Betty and we listened to it together. So I loved the titles of some of the recipes. Not your typical memoir. She lived her life and this would be a good book to give to a teenage girl.
love the author and I loved that she read this herself.
Excellent book! Interesting and authentic. It's a pleasure to hear it being read by the Author.
I love this book ! I love listening to Reese described the Southern women’s traditions
Love love Reese and the fact she reads it!!! Such a fun and insightful book!!
