After training as a teacher, Alastair spent four years cycling around the world, 46,000 miles, 60 countries. He has written books on the experience for adults Moods of Future Joys and also for children The Boy who Biked the World parts 1,2 & 3. As well as expeditions such as cycling round the world, walking across India and rowing the Atlantic, Alastair was named as a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year.
