LOVED the book. The narrator didn't fit the main character.
One of my all time favorite books. I appreciated the subtle yet important shifts in tone for each character. I thought it was well done!
Depressing and crazy. I suppose life could throw all of this at you but it was A LOT! Good the book ends with a somewhat positive outlook.
Wally Lamb is one of my favorite authors-his books never disappoint! The narration on this one was also excellent.
This book was 15 hours of crazy depressing non stop horrible, and 3 hours of inspiring love, healing and growth. I stuck it out, but it wasn't worth it. If I could go back in time I would not haven listened to this book. I know some people can relate to rape, divorce, cheating, weight gain, AIDS, I could go on and on. This was just too much sadness for my taste!
I had been meaning to read this book for years, started it but lost interests. I'm glad I listened to the audiobook. I didn't mind the narration, she was good at making her voice childlike and I could even hear the time period in her voice.
I've read this book at least six times. One of my top five all-time books. But the narration was not good and I wish I could get my credit back. Dumb purchase on my end.
