Unabridged Audiobook
I loved this "happy ending" but am still a bit squeamish about very explicit sex scenes. Didn't enjoy the diversion with George, otherwise would probably have given it 5 stars
Well, even not having read [heard] the first 2 installments of Arden and Caspian's story, the writing and the superb narrator pulled me in and didnt let go. Alexis Hall writes with wit and perceprion, and with some glowing descriptions of places and events. The characters are well drawn. Some of them are amusingly quirky and interesting . Deep bonds of friendship between some of the characters help them through full blown life crises , including severe (post-traumatic) disability, giving further insight into what makes the characters tick. There are some uncomfortable aspects of interpersonal relationships which are dealt with which also add to the richness of the plot. As I have written before in reviews of other books of this genre , I, personally could do without the expletives that some of the characters use freely. I dont think that their omission would detract in any way from the success of the story--but that's just old fashioned me. I sometimes wonder if it would be possible have a separate version with them edited out, but Im sure that my hangup anout this is an oddity these days. Mr. Joel Leslie, once again, is absolutely remarkable as the voices of the many characters. Thoroughly enjoyable!
There is no greater compliment I can give to describe how this author and narrator will make you feel, other than that you will not be able to eat or sleep, possibly for days. And it's completely enchanting.
