Unabridged Audiobook
A slow, detail-oriented read that feels made for winter. The world-building is immersive and beautifully written without being heavy, and I really enjoyed the simple language and fairytale vibe. The pacing felt intentional, and both the sorrow and joy came through clearly. That said, the characters, storyline, or just overal melancholic vibes lacked enough depth for me to fully connect, even though I kept picking it up. The romance also didn’t work for me. It felt doomed from the start and carried an uncomfortable “men and women can’t just be friends” undertone.Overall, atmospheric retelling of a fairytale with lovely writing, but not quite a favorite.
Generally a Good Read with and interesting storyline but i feel the character of the snow child, Faina is not well established.
An enjoyable and thought provoking twist on a child’s fairytale.
I'm not really a fan of 'fantasy' books but it was a sweet story and the narrator did a great job with the various voices. Just not my genre.
I enjoyed this story, I didn’t think it was fairytale like at all. Characters were well developed and likable. Great narration.
