He is an investigative historian, author, filmmaker and new media designer. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in criminal justice history and espionage in international relations. René Ruiz is an accomplished voice actor, stage director, and narrator originally from Austin, Texas. He created, directed, and performed with the off-Broadway a cappella theater show Toxic Audio, which won a New York Drama Desk Award. He is an Audie nominee and an Earphones Award winner.
